Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages
Originally designed as a hunting, lodge and farm house. The Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottage was built around 1906 and was surrounded by indigenous forest until parts where cleared agriculture, particularly coffee in the first quarter of the 20th century.
The house constructed of wooden structures on raised stilts, Architecture reminesant of the pioneering days of Kenya has corrugated iron walls which were lined with wood inside and had railed verandahs with arched roof supports.
